We also won't quote sight-unseen on openers older than what current safety sensors support, or on panel replacement for doors where the model is discontinued and we'd need to source a full custom panel. In both cases we'll tell you that during the call, not after we've shown up.
Given the age spread in this area's housing stock, median built around 1982, we run into a fair number of original doors on side-mounted torsion hardware that nobody stocks parts for anymore. When that happens, replacement is usually the honest answer, not a repair quote padded to look like one. We'll say so instead of billing you for a fix that won't hold.
